At KJO, we try to stay out of the boys personal life, but since this is huge news and has been marked official by the Jonas family, I believe it’s okay to announce. Kevin Jonas is engaged to long time girlfriend, Danielle Dealesa. We wish them the best of luck.
The following was posted on JB’s facebook by Kevin Sr. and Denise:
Our hearts are filled with joy today and we are happy to share with you that our son Kevin has asked Danielle for her hand in marriage,” parents Denise and Kevin Jonas Sr. say in a statement to PEOPLE. “Her answer was yes, and it is such a blessing that she will be joining our family. Kevin and Danielle have not yet set a date. Family is very dear to us, and we hope we have raised Kevin to be a wonderful man and husband. Please join us in our family’s celebration and in congratulating Kevin and Danielle. Thank you for all of your support.
Kevin Jonas Gets Engaged!
Kevin Jonas surprised his girlfriend Danielle Deleasa by showing up at her doorstep in New Jersey early Wednesday morning and dropping down to his knee to ask her to marry him. Presented with a cushion-cut diamond ring that Jonas designed with Jacob & Co., Deleasa couldn’t believe what was happening.
Then, “She said yes, yes, yes like 500 times super fast in a row,” the oldest of the Jonas Brothers tells PEOPLE exclusively.
Jonas, 21, and Deleasa, 22, who met in May of 2007 while vacationing with their families in the Bahamas, haven’t set a wedding date yet. “It still feels like a dream,” she tells PEOPLE.
Overnight Flight
When Deleasa, a former hairdresser, first met Jonas two years ago, she admits, “I didn’t know who the Jonas Brothers were.” It was Kevin who eagerly pursued her after meeting her and then spotting her walking on the beach with a flower in her hair.
Jonas popped the question after arriving in New Jersey on an overnight flight from a concert in Vancouver. “It was tough performing last night, knowing that I was going to ask the biggest question in my life to the most amazing girl in the world,” he says.
Anyone remotely familiar with the Jonas Brothers knows that they have a pretty good sense of humor. But in case you have any lingering doubt, JONAS co-star Chelsea Staub confirmed that fact to Celebuzz at the Disney Virtual Fashion Show on Tuesday night.
Staub—who plays Stella Malone on the Jonai’s TV series—reveals that Kevin, Joe and Nick relieved the boredom of downtime on the set by pranking the crew—including her.
“We are all under the age of 21 and we’re working on a set for twelve hours a day for six months so we definitely got in trouble,” Staub recalls. “One day I came back to my dressing room and Joe had stolen all of my furniture, everything from the hangers down to the light bulbs. And I was under the impression that I had been fired because they put a note in there from my producer so I was heartbroken trying not to cry.”
Worse, when Staub decided to dish out a little payback, Joe pulled an even more devastating prank on her.
“I had my whole revenge planned out and then he got me again, even worse,” Staub admits. “This time they had hidden cameras and hired actors and they’re releasing it. So you get to see me almost crying. They’re really good at it.”
Hmm; seems like Joe is a big fan of trying to make girls cry these days.
Hopefully the footage of the prank will end up somewhere in the extras of the JONAS box set.

Nick Jonas draws a crowd wherever he goes – even to a U.S. Senate hearing on diabetes.
The Jonas Brothers hunk, 16, spent time on Capitol Hill Wednesday testifying at a hearing on government funding for diabetes research.
When the teen heartthrob walked into the room, dozens of cameras were waiting and teenage girls filled the seats, even lining the back wall, to get a glimpse of Jonas. One woman fainted during his speech.
Jonas, who works with the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, urged the committee to continue funding diabetes research in hopes of finding a cure. “My life depends on it. All our lives depend on it,” he said.
Jonas was diagnosed with diabetes at age 13. He said his brothers were the first to notice the change in him. His symptoms included being thirsty all the time, dropping 15 lbs. in two weeks and having a “bad attitude, which is unlike me,” said Jonas as laughter erupted.
Jonas also read some lyrics of a song, “A Little Bit Longer,” that he wrote about dealing with the disease. “With the help of Congress, I’ll only have to wait a little bit longer for a cure,” he testified.
Proud Father
His father was thrilled with his son’s testimony. “I think it was amazing and I really hope it leads to a cure,” Kevin Jonas, Sr. told PEOPLE. “I’m incredibly proud and moved by my son.”
Jonas echoed his father’s sentiments about the day, telling PEOPLE: “It was great. It was really cool. The whole thing was a pleasure to be a part of and a great thing for me to share my story and hopefully have some influence on some very influential people.”
After his testimony in D.C., Jonas got back to some other important business: rejoining his brothers on tour in Denver.
As for what’s next: “The album is out – it’s number one,” said Jonas. “Right now it’s more about the tour and focusing on that. Then in September we go back to shoot Camp Rock 2 in Toronto, which should be fun. It’s good to be [in] the cast again. And then, from there, I’m not sure. Just continuing to tour and having fun, playing music for the fans.”
Money, fame and fans haven’t changed the Jonas Brothers one bit.
So says Honor Society, one of the opening acts for the Jo Bros’ just-launched world tour. We caught up with the group the other day at a private home in Los Angeles, where they were shooting a video for “Where Are You Now?,” a single featured in Vanessa Hudgens’ upcoming movie Bandslam…
“With all of the success that the Jonas Brothers have, they are extremely humble,” said Honor Society frontman Michael Bruno. “We’ve always been able to observe that about them, and that’s something that we plan to take with us as we grow as a group.”
Fellow bandmate Alex Noyes also chimed in: “One thing Nick always says that really strikes me is, ‘Live like you’re at the bottom when you’re at the top.’ ”
Honor Society first met Jo Bros last year.
“An EP we made, made it into the hands of Nick, Kevin and Joe,” Bruno said. “They liked what they heard, and we started to strike up a friendship first. And through that friendship, sort of a musical partnership started to happen.”
In fact, the Jonases have cowritten songs on Honor Society’s upcoming album.
“The guys are really awesome,” said keyboardist Jason Rosen. “They’re very organic. They’re very creative, and we just have a great time recording with them.”
